To streamline facility operations and simplify inventory across diverse data center sites, Chatsworth Products (CPI) offers specialized hardware that addresses specific operational bottlenecks. While CPI is widely recognized for their innovations with racks and cabinets, their engineering catalog includes many other solutions engineered for solving complex power distribution and rugged environmental protection. This technical spotlight examines two standalone CPI innovations: the eConnect® Universal Input PDU, which eliminates regional power SKU complexity and supports high-density AI workloads up to 34.5kW, and the RMR® Free-Standing Enclosure series, delivering up to NEMA 4X ingress defense for industrial environments.
eConnect® PDUs with Universal Input
Global Power Standardization & SKU Reduction: eConnect Universal Input PDUs utilize detachable line cords supporting major global AC standards (200–250V 1P, 120/208V 3P, 220–240/380–415V 3P, up to 70A). A single PDU design replaces multiple region-specific SKUs, streamlining global procurement, lowering stocking costs, and simplifying multi-site rollouts.
QuadLock Outlet Versatility: Equipped with QuadLock outlets that dynamically accommodate C13, C15, C19, and C21 plug types in a single receptacle. This eliminates connector mismatch issues during hardware refreshes without requiring PDU replacements.
High-Density & AI Workload Capacity: Engineered for modern AI and high-performance computing (HPC) demands, delivering up to 34.5kW capacities with 30A branch circuit breakers in standard form factors.
Deployment & Physical Design: Features a 2-foot whip with a universal connector for easier cable management in high-density racks, along with secure locking mechanisms to protect against accidental unplugging. Standard configurations are Made in the USA, TAA-compliant, and carry UL/IEC 62368 certification.
RMR Series Cabinets
Industrial-Grade Ingress Protection: Provides environmental defense for sensitive automation, control, and IT equipment. Ratings include NEMA Type 12 (indoor dust and noncorrosive drips, IP55), NEMA Type 4 (outdoor weather and hose-directed water, IP66), and NEMA Type 4X (Type 304 stainless steel with No. 4 brushed finish for harsh corrosive or chemical environments).
Flexible Access & Internal Layouts: Features interior mounting channels on all four sides for variable-depth plate positioning. Offers single-door, double-door, and dual-access options (enabling front/rear maintenance or back-to-back equipment mounting).
Installer-Centric Hardware Features: NEMA 4/4X double-door models incorporate a removable center beam, allowing large mounting plates or heavy gear to be loaded into the enclosure effortlessly before resealing.
Sealing & Customization Ecosystem: Built with continuous formed-in-place foam gaskets and 3-point latching padlock swinghandles. Fully configurable using the web-based CPI Product Designer tool, with add-ons like XL Polyvent pressure equalization kits, LED lighting, and drain plug kits.
